White Light Transforms The V&A Museum
09-06-2010
Leading events lighting supplier White Light teamed up with regular collaborator Private Drama, the award-winning event production company, to transform the Raphael Gallery at London's V&A Museum on behalf of clients Deloitte.
White Light's lighting designer Jason Larcombe used lighting to light the stage and create a backdrop behind it, to light the tables and, most importantly, to transform the mood, feel and ambience of the V&A's distinctive architecture - bringing a magical feel to the museum for the event's guests.
To enable the transformation, White Light made use of its extensive equipment stock, using both lighting fixtures to illuminate the space and video display blocks to provide animation, movement and life as a backdrop to the many different styles of performance during the evening. Being both pratical and creative, White Light's team also made extensive use of battery powered equipment and wireless control systems, allowing the lighting to extend to the far corners of the venue quickly and without the need for unattractive cabling.
As they do for an enormous range of live events - from weddings and parties to conferences and corporate entertainment - at many of the UK's leading venues, White Light provided a complete lighting service - design, equipment supply, health-and-safety work, installation scheduled so as not to disturb the museum during public opening hours, show running and load-out. The event's organisers and producers were left with nothing to worry about, and were able to just sit back and enjoy the stunning lighting for their show.
White Light's experienced Live Events team are available to help with projects of all scales, aiming always to deliver lighting that is powerful and imaginative, using the latest, low-energy lighting solutions wherever possible, all for the best possible price.
