Commitment to Environmental Improvement
White Light is committed to:

Reducing Energy and Resource Consumption:

  • WL will continuously monitor and track energy, water and material usage across all sites and set annual targets for reduction.
  • All energy-efficient opportunities, including equipment upgrades and process optimisations, will be explored and implemented.

Minimising Waste:

  • WL aims to reduce waste generation by minimising consumption and enhancing recycling processes. WL’s waste management systems will follow best practices to ensure all waste is diverted from landfills.
  • Targets will be set annually to increase recycling rates and decrease non-recyclable waste

Switching to More Sustainable Resources:

  • Where feasible, WL will transition to materials and energy sources with a lower environmental impact.
  • To further reduce WL’s environmental footprint, we have set clear and measurable targets. These targets focus on energy consumption, travel and transport, resource use (including materials, products, and packaging), water use, and waste management. This includes transitioning to more sustainable resources, such as sourcing renewable energy, to minimise our overall environmental impact.

Responsible Travel and Transport:

  • WL will promote environmentally responsible and business travel, with an emphasis on reducing our carbon footprint through the use of public transport, electric vehicles, and optimised travel plans.
  • All employees will be informed of our travel policies and expectations related to environmental impacts.

Therefore, we are committed to ensuring that all team members understand their responsibilities in contributing to our environmental goals. To support this, we will provide:

  • Comprehensive training and resources to enhance understanding of our sustainability objectives and environmental responsibilities.
  • Clear guidance on how each individual can reduce their environmental impact through daily tasks and decision-making.

By empowering our employees with the knowledge and tools to make a difference, we aim to foster a culture of sustainability across the organisation.

WL actively encourages our suppliers, customers, and professional bodies to adopt similar sustainable practices and policies. We believe in fostering a collaborative approach to sustainability across our value chain. As part of our commitment, we:

  • Require suppliers to share information about their environmental policies and encourage continuous improvement in their own sustainability practices. We regularly assess supplier environmental performance to ensure alignment with our sustainability objectives.
  • Integrate feedback from key external stakeholders, including customers and professional bodies (such as PLASA), into our procurement and management processes, ensuring that our practices reflect the values and expectations of the wider market.

By engaging with our suppliers, customers, and industry partners, we work together to drive sustainability and create lasting positive change.
