Who is White Light?

White Light is your partner in creative solutions with technical excellence. With over 40 years experience in the entertainment industry, we are the leading supplier of lighting and technical production solutions for theatre shows, events, installations, touring concerts and conferences. Our diverse team of designers, technicians and project managers have built a reputation for delivering spectacular results on time and on budget.

Where is White Light based?

White Light is based in Wimbledon, South-West London. The full address is 20 Merton Industrial Park, Jubilee Way, Wimbledon, London, SW19 3WL. The nearest tube is South Wimbledon Station (Northern Line) which is a ten minute walk.

What are White Light’s opening hours?

The White Light offices are open Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 6.00pm. Deliveries and collections are accepted until 6pm.

How do I contact White Light?

There are several ways to contact White Light. You can call our main reception on +44(0)20 8254 4800. Alternatively you can fax us on +44(0)20 8254 4801. In order to email a member of staff, email addresses take the format of Firstname.Lastname@WhiteLight.Ltd.uk. To email a department, the format is departmentname@WhiteLight.Ltd.uk.

What is White Light’s environmental policy?

White Light is a professional and environmentally conscious organisation which acknowledges the impact that our operations may potentially have on the environment. What is White Light’s Health and Safety policy?

It is White Light’s policy to ensure at all times, where reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of their employees, subcontractors, public and other people who may be affected by White Light’s activities. A high standard of health and safety is one of White Light’s main objectives and is recognised as an integral part of service delivery.

What services does White Light offer?

As the complete production solution specialist, White Light focuses on the following areas: lighting, sound, video, rigging and staging. In terms of services, we offer the following:

Hire – Our diverse stock, experienced technicians and efficient delivery systems means we can fulfil your creative vision.

Sales –We have the world’s finest lighting, audio and video products with a wide selection of notable brands, supported by superior service.

Events – With a team of dedicated Project Managers, all with lighting, sound and staging expertise, we can help create your event on time and on budget.

Installation – We can install lighting, audio and media control systems in several diverse locations, whether these are schools, shopping centres or television studios.

Technical Service -We have a dedicated team of experienced and highly -skilled engineers who are available to look after and maintain your equipment.

Training – We regularly run training sessions to enable others to keep up-to-date with the latest technology being used in the entertainment industry.

Does White Light offer design services?

Yes, we provide lighting design as part of a full service event production for private and corporate events. However we also often work with external lighting designers and creative agencies depending on the event or production. Please contact our Events Team if you are interested in our design services.

Does White Light install equipment?

The White Light Projects team can provide complete installation services from consulting and specifying the right equipment, to providing and installing the system in your venue.

What products do you have available to hire?

Our rental stock is one of the largest and most diverse in the UK, specialising in lighting and audio equipment. The full range of our equipment available for Hire can be viewed here. We also offer
hire bundles based on each manufacturer.
If you cannot find a particular product online, then please contact one of our Hire Team who will be more than happy to help.

How do I request a hire quote?

You can request a quote by phone, email, or online via our hire section. Call 020 8254 4820 to speak with our Hires team or email your requirements to Hire@WhiteLight.Ltd.uk

How long is my quote valid for?

Normally 14 days.

How do I make changes to my hire contract?

Unfortunately changes to your hire contract cannot be made online. If you require something changing then please call our hire team on 020 8254 4820.

My equipment isn’t working. What should I do?

If you’re equipment is not working for whatever reason, then please call our Hire team for help and advice. We also have an out-of-hours support service for any urgent problems.

Will you help me set up my equipment?

Our team can provide advice for the set-up of any equipment hired from White Light. We can supply anything from a technician to assist you putting the equipment together, to a full
support service overseeing the design stage all the way through to operation and de-rig. Simply speak to a member of our Hire team for more details.

Can I try a product before I hire it?

We have demonstration facilities available at our Wimbledon warehouses. Please contact a member of the Hires team to arrange a demo.

What happens if equipment is lost or damaged during a hire?

The customer is responsible for the equipment during the hire period, including the provision of adequate insurance cover. In the event of loss or damage, please contact us immediately.

Can I cancel a hire contract?

You can cancel a hire contract. However charges may still apply depending upon the time of cancellation and the value of the contract.

Can I pre-rig equipment at White Light?

White Light offers pre-rig facilities. If you are interested in using these, please discuss with your account handler when making your booking.

Can I collect equipment from White Light?

You can collect equipment from our hire warehouse in Wimbledon. Please inform a member of the Hires team when you intend on collecting so they can ensure that the equipment is ready for you.

Does White Light deliver to my area?

White Light has supplied hired equipment across the globe and can deliver to any area.

What products are available to buy online?

White Light has a huge range of lighting, audio and visual equipment available online. We offer exclusive products from Altman Lighting, ArKaos Pro, CORE Lighting, Interactive
Technologies, JB Lighting, Look Solutions, LSC Lighting, Rainbow Scrollers and Wireless Solution. We are also official suppliers for audio manufacturers EM Acoustics, Sennheiser and Yamaha. How long is my quote valid for?

Your sales quote is valid for 30 days.

Can I return my product?

Product returns are strictly assessed on a case-by-case basis. If, for some reason, you wish to return your product, then please contact your account handler immediately.

Can White Light repair my theatrical lighting equipment?

White Light offers two types of repair: On-Time Product Repair and In-Warranty Product Repairs.
On-Time Product Repair: We provide product repair for lighting fixtures, control desks, networking accessories, effects equipment and more. White Light is an authorised service
centre for top lighting brands including ADB Lighting, Avolites, Clay Paky, Coemar, ETC, LSC Lighting, MA Lighting, Martin Professional, Philips Strand, Philips Vari-Lite and Zero88.
In-Warranty Product Repairs: We perform repairs for products that have been purchased through White Light and are still covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. All warranty repairs need to go through our Sales department in order to confirm purchase date and warranty status. If your item is no longer covered, we can offer one-off product repairs.

Do White Light offer technical servicing contracts?

White Light does offer servicing contracts. For those (particularly venues) that require the regular maintenance of a theatrical or AV system, we recommend a White Light service plan. Each plan is tailored to suit your needs and is priced accordingly to the type of maintenance required. For more information, please contact our Service Team.

How do I pay?

We accept the payment methods of cash, cheques and BACS (bank transfer).

Can I pay with a non -UK credit or debit card?

We accept all credit and debit cards expect for American Express.

Is there a minimum order amount?

There is no minimum order amount when making a purchase with White Light.

How do I open a White Light account?

When placing an order, your account handler will talk you through the process of opening an account and assign you with an account number.

I use White Light for more than one service (Hire, Sales, Installation, Tech Service) . Is my account number the same?

Regardless of the various services you use from White Light, your account number will always remain the same.

Where can I find my White Light account number?

Your account number will be provided to you by your account handler. It will also appear on invoices and statements.

I want to work for White Light. Do you have any vacancies?

Any vacancies we have at the company we will be advertised on our Vacancies page. As the company grows, we are always on the lookout for talented individuals to join our team. Therefore if there are no vacancies available, please send any prospective CVs to vacancies@WhiteLight.Ltd.uk and we will keep these on file should a suitable role arise.

I am a freelancer and interested in working with White Light. Who should I contact?

Do you offer work placements and/or apprenticeships ?

We are passionate about giving people the opportunity to gain industry experience and were named Apprentice Employer of the Year in 2011. We take on 3-4 apprentices three times a year. Our apprentices experience all aspects of White Light’s operations and spend time in our workshops departments maintaining and preparing equipment along with our Events team on site. Is White Light CHAS certified?

Due to the nature of our work, White Light is CHAS certified. For more information about the purpose and principles of CHAS, please visit their website.

I’m a student. Who should I contact for any advice/work experience at White Light?

We encourage those with an interest in the industry to contact us. All queries for advice/work experience should be directed to Craig Bennett , our Business Development Hire Manager who has a track recording of working with and nurturing young creatives.

Can White Light provide lighting for my school production?

We are dedicated to providing the production support on a whole range of events; including educational productions. Please contact a member of our Customer Service team who will be more than happy to help.
