If you are successful in completing your apprenticeship, you will be considered for any suitable permanent jobs that are available at that time. It is always our aim to retain apprentices, dependent on our operational requirements. We are extremely likely to have opportunities in the business as you near the end of your apprenticeship.
Starting salary is as detailed on the apprentice information page, but once you attain a certain standard, usually at 15 months, your salary will increase to Tech Grade 1, which is of £24,958 per annum.
Our aim is to provide jobs for those in our scheme as a priority within the business. We know COVID has impacted our industry but also realise there is an increased need for skilled technicians, and other roles in our industry.
Graduate apprentices still working at d&b solutions have moved into a variety of roles, on much higher salaries;
Systems and Control Supervisor- Managing the team in this department and ensuring all orders and hires of such equipment are checked and maintained to the highest level.
Service Technician- With a mixture of warehouse and client-facing on site work, these roles service our various lighting and audio installations, and assist with the initial installation.
Site/Production/Senior Technician- These roles work on events and out on-site, providing technical support, creating lighting and sound for events in various fixed and temporary spaces.
Hires and Logistics Assistant- Working with our ELP Broadcast team, this role manages the kit, transport and individuals supporting the Broadcast teams from our Manchester base.
Specialist Senior Technicians – This role manages the pre-planning of the smaller events, and then leads the team on site for various projects.
Those who have left the company have gone on to work in all areas of the industry; whether that’s on touring productions, in theatres, on cruise ships, teaching, electricians. Some have even decided to go onto university to further their knowledge in a specialised field.
