What is SmartStage®?

SmartStage® is an immersive video environment which replaces the traditional green screen element of a virtual studio and allows the presenters and audience to see and interact with the content around them.

The content, such as financial data, structured teaching syllabus, corporate messaging or any other supporting asset is placed within the natural eye line and close proximity of the presenter. This enables the presenter to interact with the content in a far more natural way. With no rehearsals and no green-screen training required the speakers are more comfortable and can easily see and relate to the environment around them.

The SmartStage® environment is proving incredibly popular within markets such as Education, Corporate Communications, Financial Services, Broadcast, E-Sports, Government and so many more. The set-up is scalable to fit any sized space and doesn’t require a dedicated broadcast studio environment. You could even build it in an office or basement!

    How Does it Work?

A media server is provided for each studio camera, with the servers' outputs feeding into the studio vision mixer. This allows feeds into the LED video walls to be cut via macros whenever the camera feeds are cut.

The servers also generate a delayed camera feed, key and fill for front-plate/augmented reality content, along with a perspective preview for the camera operator. This means they don't have to work "blind" if the live environment is not cut to them.
