With multiple productions scheduled and no conventional dimming infrastructure available, the requirement was clear and uncompromising: deliver a dependable stage wash that would serve a diverse programme, from dance to drama to musical theatre, across the entire academic year. The solution needed to be robust, simple to operate, and flexible enough to adapt to each show’s demands.
To replicate and improve upon their generic rig without dimmers, the team hired ETC Source Four LED (S4) fixtures - a proven, high‑output choice for educational environments where reliability and repeatability matter. Moving to LED removed the dependency on failed dimmers and enabled precise, consistent colour and intensity control directly from the console.
The LED rig delivered what the programme needed most: clean, even stage coverage show after show. For the Technical Theatre students and staff, the transition streamlined workflows and cut consumables:
