The Stage recently featured a story about just how seriously we have been affected by the ramifications of COVID-19 and the devastating decisions we have therefore been forced to make. This news must have resonated with many people throughout the industry, as the outpouring of support, kindness and empathy we have since received has been humbling to say the least. Across our social media channels, the story became one of our most highly viewed this year. We have been overwhelmed by the comments from so many customers, peers, freelancers, venues and suppliers we have had the joy of working with during nearly 50 years of business.

And we know that sadly, we are certainly not alone in this stark reality. The #WeMakeEvents campaign works tirelessly to highlight the plight our industry is facing and will continue to do so until we receive the government support that is critically needed. The last Global Day of Action united over 30 million people who work in the live events sector worldwide, in awareness initiatives including #LightItInRed and the #StandAsOne peaceful demonstrations. We were happy to do our bit to help spread this vital message, lighting up our Wimbledon HQ and creating a video to convey the grim facts of our situation:

As #WeMakeEvents moves into the RESTART LIVE phase, help is needed to gather vital data on the second round of the Arts Council England Culture Recovery Fund. If your business is one of the successful applicants under this scheme, please TAKE THE SURVEY as soon as you know your decision.
Otherwise please continue to follow the campaign and help spread the key messaging far and wide.
Thank you.
