Natural History Museum Celebrates Christmas with White Light

nhm-1

The Natural History Museum is one of the world’s most historic museums, home to more than 80 million items from the world of natural and science history. As well as hosting a range of iconic exhibitions, the venue can also be used for private events. As an approved supplier to the venue, White Light has been called upon to provide the technical support on the venue’s Earth Hall Christmas parties.

Steve Burnham, WL’s Account Manager, comments: “We work at the Natural History Museum all year round and have offered production support in the venue’s various spaces for a range of events. Due to the building’s fantastic location and stunning architecture, it is a popular choice for many to celebrate the festive period. For many organisations and clients, this is their biggest event of the year so we want to ensure we provide the very best technical support possible to complement the historic surroundings”.

This year, WL worked on a run of 11 events over three weeks. These took place in the Natural History Museum’s Earth Hall, which contains the most intact Stegosaurus skeleton ever found. The events range from Christmas parties, standing drinks receptions, seated dinners and even a wedding reception.

He adds: “Despite all of the events being Christmas-themed, they varied significantly in terms of layout and how they utilised the space. Similarly, the scale of the events also ranged from 90 to 450 attendees. We supplied lighting and audio for each as well as on-site crew to ensure the whole evening ran smoothly”.nhm-2

WL’s work during the festive period at NHM concludes what has been another busy year for the company. Earlier this year, WL provided the complete technical support for the reopening of Hinzte Hall which saw the unveiling of a 25.2 metre blue whale skeleton.

Steve adds: “It’s been a busy period working at the Natural History Museum but, thanks to our experienced team and state-of-the-art equipment inventory, we have been able to provide the best service possible on every event and ensure each client’s brief is fulfilled”.
