The 2022 Olivier Awards took place at The Royal Albert Hall, London last night. Presented by comedian Jason Manford, it was the first live Olivier ceremony to take place since 2019 and some of the most iconic and well-known industry names were in attendance. As the leading lighting supplier to UK theatre, White Light (WL) sponsored the Best Lighting Design Award, which was won by Tim Lutkin and Andrzej Goulding for Life of Pi. The company also supplied the lighting fixtures for the rig which was used during the ceremony.
Life of Pi was in fact one of the biggest winners of the evening, also scooping gongs for Best New Play, Best Actor and Best Set Design. The most triumphant show of the evening though was Cabaret, which received seven awards in total and broke the record for those won by a musical revival.
